Sutars

This was normally, but was not restricted to, changelings who have not yet been given their earned rank within the tribe. Non-changeling races who were allied with the specific tribe were allowed to be Sutars, but they would only receive a participation bead that marks them as going through the trials and on equal standing of any other tribe member. This was only during the time of tribes. As tribes no longer exist in mass, only changelings may participate in the Trials of Sterne at this time. Changeling Sutars were normally young changelings who had only ever had a birth rank that had just aged two years since starting their shifting period. Anyone older than the two years is either a changeling denouncing their old tribe and gaining a new rank within a new tribe, a once tribeless changeling, or the child of an outcast wishing to denounce their Outcast past. For IRL purposes this is, done after two full years of experience in the Belegarth community. As of current events only Pryde is left standing, though nomadic, and therefore all changelings are nomads who are living among the Cennads

Garb requirements

Sutars are expected to not have Sterne Beads. If they were older changelings switching tribes they would first be required to rid themselves of their old Sterne Beads before competing. Also, they were expected to have their face painted up with their birth rank at all times.

Sutars are expected to be in their true form and throw personas back into the wilderness. They must have their birth and earned ranks on their garb as stated previously on the garb tab. Their faces must represent their birth rank, and the more detailed it is the better.

Non-changelings, if this is allowed later in changeling establishment will be marked with a black vertical mark down the left side of their face. On the mark will be what their birth mark would be.

Council

Once trials have been completed the council of the tribe, look at Tribal Roles for more info, will review not only who is the winner of that specific year’s Trial, but also analyze the other competitors’ choices and earned points. It is expected that the trials will show which Zodiac Rank they are most similar to in order to help them gain proper roles within the tribe. Input of tribal role from an individual is put into account.

Those who come out as leaders during the trials tend to be higher ranked. Leaders mostly lead what become mid rankers, and may build small alliances with multiple people while still being very obviously the leader of the troop. Those who are more likely to make alliances and team up with others to build a strong unit tend to be mid ranked. They people are great at communicating and leading when not in the moment of action. This allows a possible higher ranker to be a leader instead of them self. Finally, those who complete the trials, but more by being led, or surviving on their own tend to be in lower ranks. They may not be able to be led and fend for themselves or wish not to listen to the team as a whole, These are changelings who need more guidance, but have strengths in personal regards.

Sterne Beads

(Beads Numbers earned Lowest to Highest Rank)

Every Sutar starts at the bottom and is given beads based on the new rank they earn during the trials. The number is equal to the bead. A separate bead will be given to the winner of the Trial, and a participation bead is given to every Sutar. This means if the Winner by points is given an Aquarius rank they have the possibility of having 14 beads in representation. The lowest one person can get is 2 beads, meaning Capricorn rank with only a participation bead.
