In the world of Belegarth there are many gods and goddesses to know about. As changelings they understand that all the gods are real, but that all answer to the Cennads. The Cennads are mother and father, creator and destroyer, and the ones who started it all. "For all are one in the eyes of Cennad."

~Creation of Changelings~

The galaxy has always been long and endless. A darkness, a never ending darkness. One day it awoke opening two bright eyes full of shiny gas. It awoke and spread its arms growing planets and stars out of its arms. And then there was only Cennad Sterne. A lonely god with endless potential for creativity. He himself created the stars through his birth and became a Cennad to all within the stars. Sterne was the “father” in the sky. Yet, he was alone in his endless realm of planets, stars, and galaxies. For there is no joy in creation when there is no one to share it with. Instead, he spent his days shaping the balls of gas into pictures. Creating images that could only be seen from afar. One day an explosion occurred in the farthest corner of his reaches. For the first time in his memory he was powerless to stop a cosmic change. It was unlike anything he had ever seen, and it spread its arms wide and hugged onto a lonely planet of ice warming it in its arms. As stardust swirled on it own accord he found himself left with a woman so beautiful that she outshined even his brightest sun.

She was young and full of life, but also curious and full of adventure. This woman became known as Cennad Erde, the Earth mother. Cennad Erde was kind and warm and brought life to a place deprived of everything living. In her honor Cennad Sterne decided to create twelve pictures in sky with his stars. These constellations became known as the Zodiac signs. But Cennad Erde was not easily whooed for she had her own powers of creation. Instead she challenged him to a dual of creation. He accepted, feeling for the first time in his known life a desire for more than just moving balls of light from one place to the next. On the planet Erde created a realm so vast it rivaled Sterne’s. She melted the ice planet down until it was only melted blue. Her creation was an ocean that spanned the world from corner to corner, and it appeared endless. So Sterne ventured down to the planet and found only water, and more water. He laughed and took his stardust to create creatures that fed off of the vast ocean. Erde was impressed, and found herself loving the creatures in the sea, but she noticed something else. They were deprived of life. The creations were alive, but not living.

She scoffed at the father in the stars and caused the sea floor to rise above the water level. The sea floor grew upward into mountains and shore lines alike. Sterne was amazed with Erde’s endless amounts of power, but he felt that giving up would only make his new companion angry. Instead he moved his brightest sun into the center of this new cosmos allowing the light to grow plants on the new dirt floor. Erde admired his ability to create with such a simple move, for he did not touch her land to grow it into a beauty. So, she took the challenge and created life from the sea animals and enabled them to breathe and live on the green earth that Sterne had created. Erde found herself in love with the creatures that were so full of life with her touch to his past creation.

Species of all kinds roamed the earth taking their creativity from the dual creation of their Cennads. So, she proposed a plan to the Cennad in the stars who could control the stardust beyond her domain. If just using their powers together could create such amazing creations so full of life, what would happen if they truly used their powers to create something together? Sterne, now winning Erde’s admiration and acceptance agreed to the proposal, and together they took the earth from the planet and power from the Great Star itself, and created something so full of life that they found themselves loving it like nothing else before. This combination of stardust from the sun and earth from Erde’s own birth place created the first Changelings. Creatures who could morph into all of the life that the Cennads had placed upon the earth. They could become one with the creation in a way nothing had before, and teach the other species how to live as one as the Cennads hoped all of their creation could one day do.
